Hard Rock Bet cleared for Michigan launch as tribal resort digital partner

Hard Rock Bet has officially launched in Michigan, partnering with Island Resort & Casino and the Hannahville Indian Community to offer regulated online casino gaming and sports betting statewide.

Today, it was announced, the Michigan Gaming Control Board has approved Seminole Hard Rock Digital to power online gaming and sports betting for the Hannahville Indian Community’s Island Resort & Casino, marking the brand’s entry into the state’s regulated digital wagering market.

This authorization enables Hard Rock Bet to go live on behalf of the Upper Peninsula tribal operator beginning December 2, 2025, replacing the departing 888 VHL platform. The approval follows the company’s completion of Michigan’s full licensing and regulatory vetting process.

“This reflects our continued focus on maintaining integrity, transparency, and consumer protection,” said MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams. “We look forward to seeing the Hannahville Indian Community and Hard Rock provide a safe, responsible experience for players statewide.”

The launch will extend Island Resort & Casino’s reach beyond its Harris, Michigan, location, where it has operated as a longstanding tribal gaming destination. The MGCB approval requires Hard Rock Bet to utilize board-sanctioned games, suppliers, and payment systems while adhering to state internal controls, tax obligations, and all statutory provisions governing Michigan’s iGaming and sports betting framework.

The regulatory greenlight reinforces Michigan’s measured approach to market expansion, ensuring new entrants meet stringent compliance standards for responsible gaming and consumer safeguards before serving the state’s digital players.
