Missouri’s first legal sports bets were booked at 12:01 a.m. CT Sunday, December 1st, as licensed operators switched on mobile and retail platforms under rules approved by the Missouri Gaming Commission.
The launch, authorized by voters through November 2024’s Amendment 2, opens a market analysts project at $ 2.3 billion in annual handle. Residents and visitors aged 21-plus may now wager while physically located inside state lines; geolocation and responsible-gaming safeguards are mandatory for every licensee.
Commission Chair Jan Zimmerman said early audits show all active books passed final compliance checks ahead of the go-live date. Tax revenue from sports-betting proceeds is earmarked for public education and problem-gaming programs.
