Market Notes

  • Handle and growth: Arkansas sports betting has grown significantly with the addition of major operators. Full-year 2025 handle reached approximately $640–$700 million. Early 2026 volumes have been strong, with March 2026 seeing a record monthly surge thanks to the launches of FanDuel and DraftKings.
  • Market split: Mobile accounts for ~93–95% of handle across the three casino-linked apps. Retail makes up the small remainder at the three casinos (Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort, Saracen Casino Resort, Southland Casino). FanDuel (via Oaklawn) and DraftKings (via Southland) launched in March 2026, replacing the previous Oaklawn Sports and Betly apps.
  • Hold and tax: Statewide hold typically averages 9–11%. Sports betting revenue is taxed at 13% on the first $150 million and 20% above that. This generated roughly $14–$16 million in state tax revenue for 2025, directed to general revenue and racing purses.
  • Regulatory note: The Arkansas Racing Commission oversees the market. The addition of FanDuel and DraftKings significantly improved mobile options. The proposed fourth casino in Pope County remains stalled/canceled. Enforcement against offshore operators continues. No major tax or expansion bills advanced in early 2026.
